My Honest Review of Resist Bars as a Diabetic-Friendly Snack

I'm Nora, I'm 43 years old, and I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about a year ago. For anyone who has received this diagnosis, you know the whirlwind of emotions and lifestyle changes that come with it. From counting carbs to managing sugar cravings, diabetes has transformed how I approach food.

For me, one of the biggest challenges was finding healthy, satisfying snacks that wouldn't throw my blood sugar off track, especially snacks I could rely on when I was on the go.

The Problem with Most Protein Bars

At first, I stocked up on protein bars, hoping they'd be my solution since one of the components to managing blood sugar is increasing protein intake. I'm used to walking by the protein bar aisle at grocery stores and knew there were a ton of options and flavors, and the convenience of a protein bar was a major plus for me. I got to a point where I would never be without a protein bar.

But I started to feel really bad. I noticed some strange symptoms: bloating, cravings, and worst of all, I was still experiencing blood sugar fluctuations. But I couldn't understand why a "healthy" snack was making me feel so unhealthy.

That's when I decided to take a closer look at the labels. To my surprise, many of these bars are loaded with hidden sugar, sugar alcohols, and artificial ingredients, all things that are known to cause disruption in the body.

I started to feel defeated thinking there wasn't a snack out there that would actually meet my needs. But then, after a ton of research, I came across Resist bars and I instantly felt comforted.

Why Resist Bars Stood Out to Me

One thing that immediately stood out was how these bars are specifically crafted, alongside doctors, to support blood sugar levels. Here's what made me decide to give them a try:

  • Low in carbs and high in protein: With diabetes, carbs are always a concern, and I needed something that wouldn't spike my blood sugar. The balance of protein, fiber, and low net carbs looked perfect!
  • Natural Ingredients and No Artificial Junk: I wanted something that didn't have artificial flavors or fillers, just real food that would fuel my body without the side effects.
  • Healthy Fats and Fiber: Fiber and healthy fats are key for me, as they help me feel full without causing a glucose rollercoaster.

Trying Resist Bars for the First Time

I ordered a sampler pack to try all of the flavors and eagerly waited for them to arrive. When I opened my bar (I first tried the Peanut Butter Turmeric bars) I was pleasantly surprised by the wholesome, clean look of the packaging. Unlike other bars that try to hook you with images of chocolate and caramel swirls, Resist kept it simple, focusing on the actual nutritional benefits.

And the taste? Each of the three bars were delicious! I love that they don't taste overly sweet or processed. Instead, each bite feels like real, whole ingredients. I noticed that my body was responding better to these bars than to the others I had tried. There was no strange aftertaste from sugar alcohols, no sugar crashes, and, most importantly, my blood sugar stayed stable throughout the whole day! My favorite became the Cinnamon Chocolate Chip.

How Resist Bars Have Changed My Routine

Since incorporating Resist into my diet, I feel more in control of my blood sugar than ever before. I don't have to second-guess whether my snack is going to throw me off track, and that peace of mind is invaluable. I feel more energized and less reliant on quick sugar fixes to get through the day. Resist fits seamlessly into my daily routine, whether it's grabbing a snack between meetings or taking one along on a hike.

For anyone with diabetes who struggles with finding snacks that are truly supportive of their health needs, I can't recommend Resist bars enough. They've been a game-changer for me and have proven that there are snacks out there that prioritize health and satisfaction in equal measure.
