Why Composting is Not Trash
Hey there, fellow eco-warriors! Today, we’re talking about the importance of putting compost material in the compost bin and the absolute atrocity of throwing compostable material in the trash. Yes, you heard me right, it's an atrocity!
First of all, let's talk about what compost material is. It's basically anything that was once living and can decompose into nutrient-rich soil. Think about all the food scraps, yard trimmings, and even paper products that you toss in the trash. All of that can go in the compost bin instead! By doing so, you're not only reducing the amount of waste you produce but also creating a natural fertilizer that's great for your garden.
On the other hand, throwing compostable material in the trash is a big no-no. Not only does it take up space in landfills, but it also releases harmful methane gas as it decomposes. And let's not forget about all the resources that went into producing that material in the first place. By tossing it in the trash, you're basically saying, ""I don't care about the environment, and I love wasting resources.""
But wait, there's more! By composting, you're also reducing the amount of greenhouse gases that are released into the atmosphere. When organic material decomposes in landfills, it creates methane gas, which is a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. By composting, you're diverting that material from the landfill and turning it into something useful instead.
So, in , composting is not only good for your garden, but it's also good for the environment. Our wrappers are 100% home compostable and that’s why it’s so important to put your Resist wrappers in the compost bin vs. the trash bin. It’s super easy to do a quick Google search to find where public compost drop-off bins are. Also life hack** most Whole Foods and Co-Op grocery stores have composting bins! We like to keep a paper bag in our freezer and put our food scraps and Resist wrappers in there. That way a compost bin doesn't take up space on our counter, it’s out of the way and doesn’t smell!
Don't be lazy and throw compostable material in the trash. Instead, show some love to Mother Earth and put it in the compost bin where it belongs. And if anyone tries to tell you otherwise, just give them a sassy eye-roll and say, ""Sorry, I don't speak trash.""
